Born and raised in District 6, I developed a strong work ethic at 10 years old while waiting tables at my family’s restaurant. Growing up in the westside of San Antonio, I attended Edgewood schools, and later graduated from John Jay High School.
Later, I started my own small business, and then continued serving my community as a labor organizer for city workers.
My pathway to politics took on a deeper meaning after the tragic loss of my older brother to suicide. The personal heartbreak pushed me to not just mourn, but to act, driving me to focus on issues like access to quality healthcare, mental health resources, and the systemic barriers that prevent our families from thriving.
As a labor leader, I listened to workers and got a deeper look into the operations of key city departments. I learned where gaps exist and how, often, taxpayer monies were not being used wisely.
With limited resources, increasing economic uncertainty and rising prices, we need to ensure our tax dollars are helping District 6 families, Whether it be veteran services, mental health programs, crime prevention or street repairs, we need to make sure it is done right.
Hard work is in my blood, and as your City Councilwoman, I’ll bring that same dedication to serving you. Now is the time for strong leadership. I’ll fight for livable wages, transparent government, and safer communities where our families can thrive.
